Meet Laura! She first joined Summit as a trainee in July 2024 and has since completed the two-year program. Laura now works in the CRU Educational Camps team as an Emerging Leader, continuing to lead on camps, get trained, and work towards gaining further qualifications.
When she’s not sharing the gospel with kids on camps, Laura attends Dural Anglican Church, loves spending time outdoors and playing sport.
Laura heard about CRU from a friend and wanted to be involved. So, after a few conversations she decided to join the Summit Program.
So why does she love Summit? Because she gets to be outdoors and be silly with kids across NSW and ACT, all while showing them the love of Jesus and growing His kingdom!

I was running a typical orienteering session with my activity group which ended as all good activity sessions end, with a debrief! We chatted about how God gives us a map and coordinates for life and when we trust Him in that, we will find our 'markers'. I explained how God gives us this map and the instructions in His Word, the Bible.
As we were walking from the session to lunch two of the girls (Candace and Delilah*) came up to me and said they wanted a Bible so that they can have the map to life. They expressed that they had been given a New Testament Bible but they wanted a full Bible so that they could know more about how God made everything. I told them that I would of course get them a Bible to take home and to come find me at afternoon tea!
They both came up to me at lunch, during the next activity session and at the start of afternoon tea begging me to get their Bibles for them, they didn't want to wait any longer! I gave them their Bibles at afternoon tea and they were both beaming from ear to ear to have their Bibles in their hands!
This was the first time on a school camp that I had students come up to me and ask for a Bible without me offering it first. It was such an encouragement and a reminder that God and the Spirit work in people’s hearts even when you don't expect it.
Praise God for Candace and Delilah's excitement to read His Word!
